A little history:
Mr. Barker founded the company long before any of us were born. He brought on Mr. Harry Mansfield shortly after founding. Mr. Barker no longer wanted to be in the business, so Mr. Mansfield bought the company. Mr. (Harry) Mansfield and his wife, Doris, ran the company until 2013, at which time transferred ownership to his son, Richard E Mansfield (Ricky). Though we kept the name, we elected Sub-S status for the year beginning 1/1/2014.
What we do
Barker Controls sells industrial counting devices, specifically, mechanical and electro-mechanical counters, encoders, timers, controllers and valves. Though not a glamorous industry, it remains a necessity if you produce anything that needs measuring in any way. Some of the older counters were built to last and we can sometimes repair them, but supplies are getting scarce and electronics have made their presence known. The more modern electro-mechanical ones are built around replacement rather than repair. Our customer base is predominately in the US and we ship to most of the states. We have customers in Canada and Mexico. Our products end up all over the world, but we are restricted to shipping to North America. We use freight forwarders when something needs to go elsewhere. We deal with just about every level in an organization from the Owner to Product Designers to Maintenance guys needing a replacement counter. We also work with small, medium and nationwide distributors of electronics. We often help them with their customers’ needs. We look forward to helping you with your needs.
